How VueturaTrac™ Package Works

Receiving

Recording items into the VueturaTrac™ system
is easy.
  1. The delivery vehicle unloads packages or other items onto your loading dock or into your mailroom. The best way is to have them set onto a simple conveyor track.
  2. At the other end of the conveyor, a receiving clerk scans the shipper's label. The value is stored in the system automatically.
  3. Optionally, the system automatically weighs the package and enters the value into the system.
  4. The clerk looks up the recipient's internal address using VueturaTrac™. The address can either be an alias ("Susan Reid" might be an alias for "Accounting Department") or the actual person. This value is then stored.
  5. The clerk enters any appropriate delivery notes (such as "Contains live fish, please expedite").
  6. The package is then sorted directly into carts or shelves, given to another clerk for sorting, or set aside for sorting later, depending on the volume of items to be delivered or the policies of the organization.
  7. The receiving clerk receives the next item.
Most of our customers report that this process takes from 45 seconds to 5 minutes using manual procedures. With VueturaTrac™, the average time is 6-8 seconds per package.

Delivery

VueturaTrac™ not only makes item receiving automated, it also will record delivery status. A clerk delivers the items to the recipient, who then signs for the package using a stylus on the screen of a handheld computer.

Whenever it is convenient, the clerk returns the handheld computer to its power and data connection cradle. Automatically, the most recent data is merged into the VueturaTrac™ database and the handheld computer is recharged.

After delivery, you can now use the VueturaTrac™ system to check status on any particular item or group of items, and to print management reports.
